Vachana Literature

Vachana Sahithya (literature) is a form of rhythmic writing in Kannada (also Kannada poetry) that evolved in the 11th century C.E. and flourished in the 12th century, as a part of the Sharna movement. The word vachanas literally means "(that which is) said". These are readily intelligible prose texts.

“Vachana Sahitya” or Vachana literature, written 800 years ago, is relevant for all times and it is essential for people to follow the ideals and teachings of the “Vachanas”.

Vachana literature gave importance to women and weaker sections of society.

Vachana literature and composers such as Shivayogi Siddharameshwara, Akka Mahadevi, Madara Chennaiah and Basaveshwara were against inequalities prevailing in the society and the caste system.

The teachings of these composers were more relevant in the present political and social situation, where there was more intolerance. These composers had laid stress on work and social service.

The ideals of the composers of the “Vachana Sahitya” should be made known to the younger generation, especially the students in schools,  colleges and universities.

The vachana literature heavily influenced the 12th century bhakti movement led by Basavanna. Vachanas written by sharanas brought awareness to many people about the simplicity of life, vachanas many of them were lost.Luckily we still have hundreds of thousands of vachanas remaining with us, and we have the implied responsibility to understand, follow, and even spread the essence of these wonderful teachings to the world

Indo-European Cultural Committee, Poland. Here in after reffered as VACHANA SAMAJA. VACHANAS are Indian state of Karnataka’s Kannada language ancient literature came in to existence between 11th & 12th centuries through many enlightened people who were belonging to different walks of life, vachanas are the essence of life, is a form of rhythmic writing in Kannada, The word vachanas literally means "(that which is) said", These are readily intelligible prose texts, Vachana literature gave importance to women and weaker sections of society, brought awareness to many people about the simplicity of life, There were millions of vachanas, but many of them were lost, luckily we still have hundreds of thousands of vachanas remaining with us. VACHANAS are all time valuable literature then, now & future, vachanas are translated into more than 23 Indian languages and now it is time to translate into Poland’s Polish language and all other European languages. Vachana Samaja will take necessary arrangements to translate, publish, introduce & familiarise VACHANA literature to Europeans. VACHANA SAMAJA not merely limited to vachana literature familiarisation, but, also introduce, educate & celebrate Karnataka’s & India’s language, culture, sport, tourism & business etc.,
VISION:-
Introducing & popularizing of vachana literature & it’s authors to Europeans in many means and all along Kannada & Hindi language along with cultural programmes.
MISSION:-
Introducing of Vachana literature to Europe through many ways, by way of translation in their respective languages, publication, speeches at Universities, Indian Associations all around Europe, Indian Embassies all around Europe, all other (world) Embassies in Europe, European Union, United Nations & creating a musical band to sing rhythmically in European languages. Wprowadzenie:

Komitet Kultury Indoeuropejskiej, Polska dalej występujący jako Komitet VACHANA SAMAJA.

VACHANAS to starożytna literatura Indyjskiego stanu Karnataka spisana przez wielu oświeconych ludzi w języku Kannada w 11 i 12 wieku naszej ery. Autorzy Vachanas przynależeli do najróżniejszych sfer życia, niekoniecznie wykształceni posiadali ogromną mądrość życiową, którą zawarli w rytmicznych słowach języka Kannada.

Słowo „vachana” (s – liczba mnoga) dosłownie brzmi “(to, co jest) powiedziane”. Są to spisane prozą na liściach palmowych gotowe wskazówki na każdą okazję w życiu. Literatura Vachana porusza min. kwestie znaczenia kobiet i słabszych stanów dla społeczeństwa oraz zwraca uwagę na znaczenie prostoty życia. Istniały miliony vachanas, ale wiele z nich uległo zniszczeniu. Szczęśliwie wciąż mamy dostęp do setek tysięcy vachanas, które przetrwały do naszych czasów. Literatura VACHANAS zawiera ponadczasowe mądrości przetłumaczone na ponad 23 języki indyjskie i teraz nadszedł czas na przetłumaczenie ich na język polski I inne języki europejskie.

Komitet VACHANA SAMAJA podejmie niezbędne działania by przetłumaczyć, opublikować, zaprezentować i przybliżyć Europejczykom literaturę VACHANA oraz język, kulturę, sport, turystykę i gospodarkę regionu Karnataka oraz Indii. 

Wizja Komitetu VACHANA SAMAJA:

Poprzez prezentowanie vachanas przybliżyć Europejczykom język, kulturę i życie regionu Karnataka oraz Indii.

Misja Komitetu VACHANA SAMAJA:

Prezentowanie literatury Vachana oraz języków, kultury, sportu, turystyki i gospodarki regionu Karnataka oraz Indii poprzez różnego rodzaju działania np.: tłumaczenie na poszczególne języki, opracowywanie muzyczne, publikowanie, wykłady na uniwersytetach i szkołach wyższych, wystąpienia w ramach stowarzyszeń indyjskich, ambasad różnych krajów i innych instytucji reprezentujących Unię Europejską oraz Narody Zjednoczone.

Mamy nadzieję, że dzięki utworzeniu Komitetu Kultury Indoeuropejskiej, Polska pod nazwą VACHANA SAMAJA i wsparciu przychylnych nam osób przybliżymy Polakom i Europejczykom język, kulturę i życie regionu Karnataka oraz Indii.
